Don't you just love the coordination of Stampin' Up! products... For this blog tour I used the Delicate Doily stamp set with Flirtatous Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Here's a card with no stamping. Basically, it is Flirtatous DSP, button, and hemp. I love the pumpkin and Melon Mambo color combination.

This is a standard card using the new Lace Ribbon Border punch (122362), Whisper White and Wisteria Wonder cardstock.

This is a standard card using a layering to help bring out pop the colors of this card. Can you guess what colors are used?

This is a stair-step card using a little ribbon, the new Lace Ribbon Border punch (122362), Doirly Triple Layer punch (122465), Wisteria Wonder (122922), and Flirtatous DSP (122360). This is a gate-fold card using Melon Mambo cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Flirtatous DSP, Scallop Die (113468), Word Window punch (119857), and Modern Label punch (119849).

No, I have not fallen off the face of the earth. I have just been working on a few other priorities over the last few months. I recently came back from convention (July) and have renewed energy and tons of ideas I want to share with you.

I hope that you will come by and see me at a class or two or three that I have coming up. Also, I am offering a few “clubs”, such as a Creative Lunch Club, Marker Club, Technique Club, and Big Shot Club.

Creative Lunch Club
How would you like to use your lunch time to be creative? Please email me if you would be interested in lunch time stamp-a-stack or technique class. I would bring everything ready and all you need to do is put it together. The plan would be to do something in 45 minutes. The locations will be determined by interest and would be held once a month. The fee would be around $5.00 a person.

Marker Club
If you have always wanted the complete set of Stampin' Write Markers - 49 markers in all (38 Core colors, plus all 10 In Colors and Blush Blossom) with the case and hesitated because of the cost, have I got the club for you! Here’s how it will work. I'll order the markers over a 6 month period. You'll get one family group of 10 markers and the coordinating package of assorted cardstock each month. (The Neutrals Marker Asst. does not include Whisper White nor Very Vanilla because they don't exist. The 2 sets In Color Asst. will include the 5 Markers and coordinating Paper Asst.) The stamp set I choose for my SUDSOL contribution comes from mutliple demonstrator ideas via a mystery card.

Here's the story of my contribution. Periodically, I get together with a few demo friends (Julie Link, Kelly Kleven, Lisa Wellman, and Kim Glover). Whenever we get together we each bring a shoebox swaps plus someone is responsible for a mystery card.

What is a mystery card? Well, we take turns. If it is your turn to be the mystery card master you decide on the paper, ink, punches, embellishments, and stamp set to be used. You create your version of a card and keep it hidden. As each person creates their card with the material their design is hidden. Once everyone is done the mystery card master places all the samples out for voting to begin. The winner receives a prize.

Whenever I am the mystery card master I use SUDSOL pattern library or ideas from other demos from the gallery for my card.

What Works For You and Your Friends?

I have found workshops are a fun way to spend an afternoon or evening with family and friends. With so many fun techniques and projects to try, there is always something new to learn and create.

Plus, as a hostess you’ll receive a free copy of the idea book & catalog, and with qualifying sales can also earn free products available only to hostesses!
I offer a variety of options for events so you can pick the one that best fits you and your friends. Or check out my calendar which can be found on my website for upcoming scheduled events!

Workshops -
Want to see what stamping is all about? Or maybe just have a fun evening with friends trying out the latest technique and earning free products along the way? Whatever your reason, a workshop is a fun way to spend a couple hours with friends as you watch some stamping demonstrations and then get hands-on as you make your very own project. Plus, with qualifying sales you can earn free products including stamps and paper available only to hostesses! This is a free event.

Stamp Camp-
People are invited to the hostess’s house to create pre-designed cards. I provide all the paper, ink, stamps, and accessories needed to make the cards. There are two options for this party:
4 cards / $10
4 scrapbook pages (12″x12″) / $15
This is the most popular option of all the parties, as your guests get to see how easy and fun it is to rubber stamp and take their creations with them at the end of the event.

Stamp a Stack -
This class is especially popular, as it is an easy and cost-effective way of getting cards with a personal touch. There are two options for this class:
12 cards / $20 (approx. 2 hours)
20 cards / $30 (approx. 3 hours)
This is a pre-pay class, and an RSVP deadline will be declared approximately 4 days before the class.

Stamp Clubs -
You choose how you want your club to work. You can do monthly, every other month, 6-9-10 months.

For an every other month club, 5-6 people meet at my house or yours and get to make 3 free cards. Each person agrees to spend at least $30 every other month, and each person takes turns being the “hostess,” so everyone receives host benefits at least once a year for their chosen month. This club requires the commitment of one year, whether or not you are able to attend the free make-and-take sessions.

This club is great for people who enjoy stamping but may not have a large base of contacts to invite or time to organize a party of their own but still want to receive host benefits.

Misc Clubs -
Had your eye on the new Big Shot, Stampin Write Markers, a caddy, or some other big item but can’t buy it all at once? Just like the stamp clubs, you and your friends can get together for a few free projects, fun times, and in the end – the items you’ve been dreaming of!

Design Your Own -

My decision to help with Operation Write Home is selfish. I have a nephew who is in the Air Force and has been station in Afghanistan. I am very happy to report that on Veteran's Day he landed safely on US soil.

I have been very luck, more than 10 years ago, a friend and co-worker introduced me to the fun hobby of making my own cards using rubber stamps, specialty papers, ribbons, and my imagination. Can I Borrow $25?

As Memorial Day comes and goes I thought I would share a story with you. Please keep our troops in your thoughts.

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'

DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.

SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'

DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.

SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'

DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'

SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.

SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'

The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:

Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.

'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.

'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man.
'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.'

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.

'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.

'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us , those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

Haitian Disaster Relief

On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope. As a Stampin′ Up! demonstrator, I can help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this earthquake by purchasing, and more importantly selling, the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set.

From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set I sell will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Some are creating scrapbooks and some are creating cards but all are having fun laughing at old pictures, reminiscing about childhood memories , and sharing stories.

Celebrations were the theme for this month's Club! We made a wedding card, a bridal shower card, and a graduation money holder. It seems that this time of year you always need these types of cards.
The wedding card used the set "To Have and To Hold".

The graduation card used the set "Great Grads".

The bridal shower card use the Big Shot Scallop die and the Manhattan Flower Textured Impression. I need to Thank Patty Bennett for this idea.

As I sit to write this blog post I am thinking about all the things I need to complete before my trip to convention. Yes, I signed up and I am excited already. I know, I know, Convention is not until August. I have been able to sign-up for a specialized swap or two so when I return I will have many new things for my great customers.

I received an email this past week from Tana Conley (Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
Springfield, OH) that contained great words of wisdom I thought I would share.

I can be whatever I want to be

There is inside of me All of the potential To be whatever I want to be....

All of the energy to Do whatever I want To do.

I will imagine myself as I would like to be Doing what I want to do.

And each day, Take one step Toward my dream.

And though at times it May seem too difficult To continue, I will hold onto my dream.

One morning I will Awake to find That I am the person I dreamed of...

Doing what I wanted to do Simply because I had The courage to believe In my potential
And to hold on to my dream
